AGH Home Care Services is the only JCAHO accredited home care agency in Alpena County, providing comprehensive, home-based health care to residents in Alpena, Alcona, Iosco, Montmorency, Oscoda and Presque Isle Counties. Our services assist people of all ages who are ill, injured, impaired or disabled in maintaining an independent lifestyle. All services are initiated and monitored by a registered nurse. Depending upon the specific needs of the client, services are provided by Personal Care assistant/Home Health Aide and/or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Services may be arranged through your physician, your discharge planner (if you are a patient in the hospital), nursing home social worker, rehabilitation social worker or by calling us directly.

Alpena General Hospital Home Care Services accepts payment from the following sources Medicare, Medicaid, Direct payment from individuals, Private health insurance, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Workers’ Compensation. Skilled Nursing care, Wound care by a Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse, Ostomy care, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Medical Social Services, Certified Home Health Aides. Help with self-care (baths, shampoo, feeding, getting dressed, back rubs), grocery shopping, running errands, housekeeping/laundry, meal planning, preparation and clean-up, recording vital signs, blood sugar checks, assistance for wheelchair and bed-bound clients, LPNs can help with injections, organize medications, changing dressings, technical support for ventilator-assisted patients, pediatric LPNs assist with special needs children.
