Volunteers are individuals age 60 and older who meet limited income requirements and are willing to share 15 hours per week working with children. Following 40 hours of pre-service/orientation, Foster Grandparents are introduced to specific children to v

Volunteer referral stations are required to provide some local support to the program. Donations are graciously accepted from consumers.

| Services: |
|
Foster Grandparents may provide companionship, emotional support, mentoring or tutoring to children. Playing games, reading together, doing homework, going for a walk, tackling a special project, learning something new or providing a listening ear that allows a trusting relationship to grow. Activities are based on the individual child’s needs, abilities, and environment with support and supervision by staff from volunteer stations and the Foster Grandparent Program.

Referrals for service must come through an approved referral station. Most nonprofit, child and youth-oriented organizations are eligible to serve as Foster Grandparent volunteer stations. |
